As a member of the MBI team you will get involved with some of the most important deals and events in the industry. Some of your tasks will include: (1) database research and management: cold-calling companies and organizations to get contact information and conference dates; (2) investor outreach: targeting appropriate members of the financial community to arrange meetings and maintain contact; (3) biotechnology industry research: digging into both subscription databases and other online resources to uncover and analyze fact sheets and other information so that we can all stay on top of our game and; (4) writing: whether it's emails, press releases, website content or fact sheets, we are looking for a very strong writer who can digest hard core science and make it appealing to our audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain databases of investors, media and conference contacts
  • Assists in drafting and developing written materials, including press releases, Q&As, presentations, fact sheet and website contact
  • Performs day-to-day administrative tasks such as blast emails, file management, proof reading and media clipping
  • Handle logistics and planning for conference calls, webcasts and client meetings.
  • Maintain various records of information and policies
  • Document the company's communications with the media
  • Collaborate with the team on communication, media and social media activities including the issuance of press releases
  • Respond to special requests
  • Attend internal training as needed
  • Answer phone calls and email inquiries and takes messages as needed
  • Assist team with meeting calendar and logistical support
  • Support projects, coordinate logistics, travel, meetings, events, and training sessions, etc.
  • Research tasks may include assisting with the preparation of presentation documents, slide decks, competitive reviews, and newsletters
  • Monitor industry news, trends, interesting sources and events that may be of interest to account teams
  • Help maintain the Library and other duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree; biology, chemistry or pre-med background preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to be flexible and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • A general understanding of the media and financial markets
  • An energetic, efficient and resourceful team player and individual contributor
